Bachelor of Arts-Environmental Geosciences Track

The BA degree is well-suited for students interested in environmental science, environmental policy, Earth Science teaching or environmental law and offers a unique interdisciplinary perspective between Geology and Geography. The major requires a total of 39 to 44 hours of coursework and is a joint offering between the Department of Geological Sciences and Department of Geography. Students must earn a grade of C or better for coursework to count toward the major. The following is a list of required coursework:

Critical Tracking and Recommended Semester Plan

 

Semester 1:

2.0 UF GPA required for semesters 1-5

Semester 2:

Complete one critical tracking course with lab (GEO 2200 and GEO 2200L or GLY2010C or equivalent) with a 2.5 critical-tracking GPA on all critical-tracking coursework. 

Semester 3:

Complete other critical tracking course with lab (GEO 2200 and GEO 2200L or GLY2010C or equivalent) with a 2.5 critical-tracking GPA on all critical-tracking coursework

Semester 4:

Complete critical tracking course STA2023 with a 2.5 critical-tracking GPA on all critical-tracking coursework

Semester 5:

Complete 2 additional GLY, GEO courses with a 2.5 critical-tracking GPA on all critical-tracking coursework.  Recommended GLY courses include GLY2100C or GLY3105C
